SEMINARS
New Seminar Offering-Fall 2010
An
Inspiring Interior Design series is being offered
through the Elmwood Community/Senior Center in West
Hartford. Our popular seminars, Kitchen Planning
Guidelines, Kitchen Design Trends, Bathroom Planning
Guidelines and Universal Design will be offered as
individual seminars or can be taken together as a package.
Each session meets on Tuesday evenings November 2nd,
9th, 16th and 23rd from
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information or to register

KBDC continues to offer our
popular continuing education
seminars. Seminars include:
Kitchen
Planning Trends and Guidelines, Bathroom Planning Guidelines,
Universal Design,
Green Remodeling and Breaking Ground, Not the Bank: How to Save
on Your Next Remodeling Project.
These informative programs are offered in the fall
and spring through West Hartford, Farmington, Simsbury and
Glastonbury Continuing Education programs. Seminars take place
from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Seating is limited. Please contact the
Continuing Education office in
the towns of Farmington (860-404-0290),
Simsbury (860-658-3870), West Hartford (860-523-3535), or
Glastonbury (860-652-7253) for seminar locations,
dates and more information. Registration is handled through the
Continuing Education offices of these towns.

KBDC Has Moved!
Kitchen + Bath | Design + Construction has moved back toward
West Hartford Center and the center of the action. As of June
1st, 2010, KBDC's new home is 13 Sedgwick Road, West Hartford.
KBDC Owner Lorey Cavanaugh, CKD/CBD, is excited to be returning
to a more visible and accessible space with two large showroom
windows facing the street. Construction is currently underway
on the new 1600 square foot showroom that will spotlight a
variety of design styles from traditional to transitional to
contemporary. Look for the bright red KBDC company vehicle
parked out in front of the building. Plans are in the works for
a grand opening along with kitchen and bath planning seminars
and workshops. Have a project you'd like to move forward on?

AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS
KBDC has won a 2010 Chrysalis Design Award!
KBDC was named the winner in the Northern
region for Residential Universal Design in the seventeenth
annual Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence. The
winning projects were selected from over 475 entries.
Entries were judged on overall design, creative use of space
and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced
the original structure.
Kitchen + Bath | Design + Construction’s
winning entry was for a project in Rocky Hill, which called
for an addition to a 1968 style ranch, addressing universal
design and accessibility. Considerations for the
barrier-free remodel needed to take into account the use of
a motorized wheelchair with elevating seat, the homeowner’s
love of baking, include a first floor laundry, easy access
to storage for a seated user, wheelchair maneuverability of
the new master bedroom and bath, all without looking
“institutional”.

Qualified Remodelers Top 500 Listing Four Years in a Row!
For the fourth
straight year,
Kitchen + Bath | Design + Construction, (formerly Kitchen &
Bath Design Consultants) has been named a top 500
remodeling company by Qualified Remodeler Magazine.
Each year Qualified Remodeler Magazine recognizes
remodeling companies across the nation for their significant
contributions and sustained success in their community. The
Top 500 list is the longest on-going recognition program in
the remodeling industry.

KBDC has been included on this prestigious list based
on the following criteria: Installed remodeling dollar
volume, total number of years in the business, industry

Signature Kitchens
& Baths magazine, a national publication featuring the most
innovative kitchen and bath designs, has featured
Kitchen + Bath | Design + Construction (formerly
Kitchen & Bath Design Consultants) in its 10th Annual Design
Awards issue (Fall 2008). The issue features a
select group of designers from across the country, each judged
by a panel of professionals. KBDC
awarded 1st place for its design of a
Transitional Kitchen.
